    刘玉孝教授,兰州大学物理科学与技术学院博士生导师,教育部新世纪优秀人才支持计划入选者,国家优秀青年基金获得者。2001年毕业于兰州大学物理学院,获学士学位;2001年至2006年先后师从赵书城教授和段一士教授,20066月获理论物理专业博士学位(博士期间获全国优秀博士学位论文提名论文奖和第三届中国青少年科技创新奖);20067月留校工作,讲师;20086月被兰州大学聘为四级教授;2008 12 月被兰州大学聘为博士生导师;2009 3月被兰州大学聘为三级教授。2010年、2014年先后两次入选甘肃省领军人才,2009年获得第九届甘肃省十大杰出青年称号。
        现有在籍博士研究生5人,硕士研究生3人;已完整培养六届研究生,包括博士研究生7名,硕士研究生12名。
        主要从事广义相对论、规范场论、额外维、膜世界和W 弦理论等领域的研究工作。近几年来,承担了国家自然科学基金优秀青年基金1项,面上项目2项,青年基金1项,霍英东基金1项,教育部科学技术研究重点项目1项,高等学校博士学科点专项科研基金2项;在额外维、膜世界理论、黑洞物理和W弦理论方面进行了系统的研究, Phys.Rev.Lett., JCAPJHEPNucl.Phys.BPhys.Rev.D Phys.Lett.B等国际知名学术刊物上发表了90多篇SCI学术论文,其中SCI-1 20篇,被引用1700多次。部分论文:
